PICS FROM DRAG BALL II-III (Above)

In 2006, North Coast Softball started a tradition, to be played the day after pride each year.  It is called "Drag Ball" and is similar to the Columbus "Bat-N-Rouge" fundraiser softball game.  Players and friends from the North Coast Softball league dress up as the opposite gender to play softball.  Admission is a requested donation of $5 and the proceeds go to league costs. This always entertaining, adult themed, campy event lasts under two hours and will keep you laughing the entire time!  Most years, the Blazing River Freedom Band  (http://www.brfb.org/) is the musical entertainment--playing the "Star-Spangled Banner" and "Take Me Out To The Ballgame" among others. Also, a Live-DJ playing the hits we all know and love is at your disposal. Last, but not least, are the cheerleaders. These raunchy girls keep the crowd in the game with their brilliant and inspiring cheers.

So far, themes have included: "70's vs. 80's", "Good Girls vs. Bad Girls", "Heroes vs. Villains", and this year, Pittsburgh players drove up to challenge Cleveland in "Cleveland Trash vs. Pittsburgh Trash." Not even a WalMart shopping cart in the outfield was enough for Pittsburgh to beat Cleveland as we won 7-5.

Characters we've seen on the field include: The Golden Girls, Starsky and Hutch, Sunny and Cher, Carrie, Wicked Witch of the West, Dorothy, Tina Turner, Paris Hilton, Lara Croft, Superwoman, The Riddler, Xena, Octo-mom, and lots more!

If you missed it this year, mark your calendars for June 20, 2010!
